Welcome aboard Lorenz Esguerra!

Modern Climate is thrilled to have Lorenz Esguerra join the agency as Executive Vice President of Business Development. In his new role, Lorenz will be responsible for growing the agency’s roster of clients and further establishing Modern Climate as an experience agency that helps brands achieve powerful and meaningful connections with people. Before joining Modern Climate, he was the Managing Director of the Blast Radius San Francisco and Proximity Minneapolis offices, leading integrated teams working on key clients such as Hormel Foods, Electronic Arts, Palm, HP, Guthy-Renker, Warner Bros., Aviva Insurance and Aerovironment.

Lorenz began his career as a Brand Manager at Procter & Gamble. After business school, he joined Bain & Co. as a consultant and became the Director of Strategic Planning at Mattel before joining the digital agency world. Lorenz has an MBA from the Anderson School at UCLA.

Modern Climate recently hosted a MIMA (Minnesota Interactive Marketing Association) event
for the next generation of brave souls ready to commit their brains to advertising. The evening
featured a panel discussion with some of the Twin Cities major interactive players, including our own
Information Strategist, Shawn Heller. Over 50 area students came by to hear their stories – from how
they got into the biz waayyyy back when, to where they think the industry is headed.

Working Within History

We spend most of our lives inside buildings — especially when you factor in our professional lives. Well folks, not to brag (much), but our building is now an official historical landmark. That’s right. The Pence Auto Building that houses our thinkings, doings and occasional playings has been awarded the 2011 Heritage Preservation Award. Congrats to the brick and mortar and windows that provide us with one of the best views of Minneapolis.

Strong Bodies = Stronger Thinking

What do you do for a pick-me-up? Chug a cup of coffee? Walk around the block? Maybe even turn to something illicit?!? Not Modern Climate. We turn to sweating and grunting together as a group. Specifically, we do push-ups. Together. Every day at 2:30p. So if you’re ever in the mood to get down and dirty and especially toned, come on by — we’ll save you a space on the floor.

High Speed On The Job

Some agencies bond over golf. Modern Climate bonds over pinball. Introducing High Speed — the latest pinball machine in our agency’s stable. Come 5pm, the flippers and bumpers blaze into gear as creative, account and developers attempts to trump each other’s scores. Be on the lookout…there may be a pinball challenge thrown out to the advertising community very, very soon.
